The Problem

Many secluded communities in Thailand face significant challenges, including exposure to drugs, absence of recreational activities available, and a general lack of safe spaces for exercise. These issues contribute to poor health outcomes and limited social engagement. Specifically in Wat Tha Phra, one of the two sub districts of Bangkok and on the Thonburi side, where narrow roads and small houses cover the majority of the area.

The lack of space and facilities severely impacts the well-being of residents, particularly children and young adults who are in dire need of physical activity. Without access to safe and engaging environments for exercise, these young individuals are at a higher risk of developing unhealthy habits and falling into cycles of inactivity and substance abuse. This situation not only affects their physical health but also limits their social interactions and opportunities for personal growth.

A sedentary lifestyle poses serious health risks, including obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and mental health issues. Additionally, the lack of physical activity can lead to a sense of isolation and reduced community cohesion.
